Privacy Policy
What we collect
When you create a Tastii account we collect your email address (for sign-in) and any profile information you choose to share — handle, display name, and a profile photo you upload.
When you rate a product we store your rating (bucket and 0–10 score). When you add to a list (Want to Try, Favorites) we store the product reference.
When you tap a “See on …” link we log the click — product, your account ID if signed in, browser type, and IP address. This lets us understand which products drive engagement.
If you choose to add a phone number for friend discovery, we store it so people who have you in their contacts can find you. It’s stored privately (as a one-way hash), is never shown to anyone, and you can remove it anytime from your profile.
If you report a rating, comment, or user, or block another user, we store that action so our team can review reports and keep your blocks in effect.
Contacts & friend discovery
Finding friends from your contacts is optional. If you allow it, Tastii reads your contacts only to match them against existing accounts. Matching uses one-way hashes computed on your device — we do not upload, store, or share your contacts, and we never message anyone on your behalf. Invites are sent by you, from your own Messages app. You can decline contacts access and still use everything else in Tastii.
What we don’t collect
We do not collect: precise location, your photo library, microphone, camera, biometric data, or any health-related data. We do not run third-party advertising or analytics SDKs (no Facebook SDK, no Google Analytics).
Where it’s stored
Data lives in Supabase (Postgres), hosted on AWS in the United States. Authentication is handled by Supabase Auth. We do not sell or rent personal data to third parties.
Outbound links
Tapping a product or brand link takes you to the brand’s own website. Once there, that site’s privacy policy applies — not ours.
Your controls
You can edit your handle, display name, profile photo, and phone number from Edit profile, and change your email or password in Settings.
To permanently delete your account and all associated data, go to Settings → Delete account. Deletion happens immediately and can’t be undone.
You can report a rating, comment, or user, or block another user, from the “⋯” menu next to it. Blocking hides that person’s content from you. We review reports and remove violating content within 24 hours.
Children
Tastii is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13.
Changes
We may update this policy as the product evolves. The “Last updated” date above always reflects the most recent version. Material changes will be communicated in-app.
